[ his gaze lingers on her even after she turns away. Despite his strict rebuke, there's not an ounce of irritation in his eyes. He knows she didn't forget, because it's impossible to forget. And he can only imagine the amount of stress she's under. Comfort, to him, comes in the form of focusing on his work, and pushing back with logic. But Trish is different. She listens more to her heart.

Bruno is quiet for a while, contemplating. For the moment, he puts the goo out of his mind (and keeps it out of his mouth, thankfully), and instead considers the bigger picture. Trish is here, after what must have been the worst week of her life finally ended. He's here, inexplicably, after dying. And at the moment, there's no mission constraining his words and actions. This is a meeting that shouldn't be possible. He has no way of knowing how long they'll be here, or if there will ever be another chance like this. Perhaps, instead of using this time to calculate and investigate and delegate, he should be using it to just talk. ]

Trish, [ Bruno says. He's tired, too, and it comes through a little bit in his voice, now, as he speaks more openly. ] Would you tell me what happened to you afterwards?

[ he knew he wouldn't be there to see it. Looking back, he's realizing that he must have been with the Boss in those final moments, too, not her. And after that... ]

Was there someplace for you to go?
