[ That horrible food they're all being made to eat? This guy seems like he's having no problem eating it, nor does he have any complaints. Dry, gritty rice, with grainy gravy, and old broccoli? It's actually not that bad, all things considered... he's busy eating it with the most neutrally crafted expression when he suddenly pipes up, rather cheerfully despite the awful situation at hand: ]

[ He's asking about your coffee, you know, the extremely shitty coffee they gave you about fifteen minutes ago. Maybe you haven't touched it, maybe you took one sip and spat it out - either way, a closer inspection reveals he's already drank all of his. Will you part ways with it for this stranger? ]

[ The acid rain, combined with the rat swarm, has really made for a not that fun day. The good news is that after that long trek, you and him have actually finally come across a few scientists in need of rescuing, with only a few rats in the way! The bad news is that even though these scientists are calling out for help, Illumi really only seems concerned with protecting himself. And he especially is not keeping an eye out for you, his partner— it's definitely possible that on the way here, he neither waited up for you nor offered a helping hand when it would be considerate to do so during the hike.

Now, most people would at least show some sign of distress over people screaming for help, but Illumi remains passive as ever. He's not in a hurry to get to saving people, clearly! ]

Hmm, how will we get over there...

[ He wonders aloud, conversationally, like neither of you are pressed for time, and like this is a mundane time for a chat. There's a ravine between the two of you and the gathering of scientists who are encircled by the rats, and while it would be possible to make the jump to the other side, he seems hesitant to do so. ]

They said those rats can burn us, right?
