He did most of his coping with tequila back in New Amsterdam, too -- save the stint where Nate punished him with post-drinking five a.m. cardio. That whole thing was a real deterrent. Picked back up right after the aerie because who the hell could blame him, died back down again sometime just before one very important first date.
The point is, this is definitely a norm for him, it's just that the beauty of having a solo apartment and no microscope on his issues made it way easier to get by with. )
